I can't tell you the handle I always use in the simming community because They have it. I downloaded TSR Workshop because I wanted to learn how to make simple custom content. I trusted TSR because they're endorsed by the SimGurus and they've been around for so long, making some quality content. I've been to donation sites before, so I didn't think it all that unreasonable that they would ask for some small compensation for the effort they make to keep up and running. Boy, was I conned. I couldn't use their stupid program anyway because I don't have Photoshop, and it wasn't an hour after downloading it before my computer started to act up. First it was a program that kept shutting down on startup "to protect my computer." Then I had strange things happening when I downloaded from the Exchange, and then I went into the game this morning and had problems using CAS, including one that basically rendered my computer nonfunctional when I tried to upload something I'd created. When I ran a virus scan, I found several infected files. Someone in the official forums tipped me off to TSR as a possible point of entry, and I found this site via Google and I just feel sick. I expected better of my fellow simmers - I thought they would be doing what they do out of love of the game, just as I wanted to, and not to get rich. And I guess from what I've read here that maybe the artists are, some of them at least, but the people behind TSR are just doing it as a business, not for the joy of it, and that disgusts me. How awful that there are people out there who don't even know me, who would use the one thing we have in common, our interest in The Sims, to hurt me, for no reason at all. Well, it backfired on them. I was even thinking about subscribing until they did this to me, and I read up on them and learned what they're really about.

To be honest, I didn't really get what the deal was (maybe that's the point) so I figure if Pescado ain't mad at it, it must be relatively fine. No flogging then. I still think he's a tool sometimes though.

Well Inge, even if this isn't true, I think that Wes caving in anyway has done damage to his reputation and any future stance he wants to take on anything.

Also, this hit simsecret, maybe the shit is about to hit the fan.

This rumour turned out to be substantially incorrect. Wes's sole "involvement" was to change the licence terms for his plugins, so TSRWorkshop users would be able to make meshes that were compatible with Wes's Object Tool.

Given TSR's history of lying to the community about people who have, or have not participated in the creation of their tools I am unwilling to believe this until WesH makes some sort of statement about this. They lied about half the people they stated helped them with the TS3 Workshop and it is likely they are lying about this. While WesH does have his moments as do we all, I a more inclined to believe a statement from him than I am inclined to believe anything that comes out of anyone's mouth at TSR. They have repeatedly lied to, victimized, and taken advantage of the Sims Community as a whole- 9not just the Free Community since half of recolors and edits of other creators content on the site- pay and free is done without prior consent of the original creator, or even credit to the original creator) why believe anything coming out of that cesspool. Besides given the stupidity level at TSR they probably believe that being told " Make your own tools you are not allowed to use mine to create pay content" is " HELP' So I am waiting on WesH himself to make a statement before flying off the handle and blasting him just as I did when they released the TS3- Non-Workshop

Interesting reading. I looked up "Sunshine" and they do indeed originate from Stockholm but only have 4 posts so they aren't too deep undercover yet, lol. Thanks for the heads up though!
