The forum that Tom tried, but FAILED to destroy, has risen again. That happens a lot to Tom. You can find them here:

Thanks to WB for this great smiley!
Update: I have heard of many people so disheartened with TSR, that you are trying to get yourselves banned, If I may make a suggestion, do not throw away your accounts in vain, PM a few unknowing sheep with links to the truth before you go.

Or go on a DL spree and donate to the booty

What else (apart from the suggestion) can I do before I get myself banned from TSR? Ideas, anyone?
Comment by Cate — February 22, 2009 @ 15:11
Cate – either post links to the booty everywhere, reach out to a few “on-the-fence” people (if you know any) or just go ape-shit in the forums, being all pro-pirate and everything. Nothing you do will make a lasting impact – any pro-pirate shit will be deleted almost immediately – but you might as well make as big of a splash as you can before you are banned.

I did not intentionally get myself banned, but after the latest round of crap courtesy of TSR, (Thoma$$ and whoever else) that being the ‘invasive’ popups that were on Betsy’s site and a few others, I simply wrote a letter and sent one to EVERY FA and then posted it in the TSR forum in the Sims 2 chat section.
This polite letter which contained truth and links to find the truth in case they were unaware has gotten me banned.

I wasn’t going to write anything here, until I went back to TSR, to try to login..KNOWING already that I could not. Just in case you are interested, it would seem that TSR has taken up a new tactic in their banning practise, and that is just plain lying. Here’s what I mean:

Dida, I’m not sure there’s any point in your telling any of that to the FAs, they are for the most part complicit, your cries are falling on deaf ears. Good on you for posting it on the forums though, if even one person cancels their sub because of it, its a victory

Long ago, in the days of TS1, I created for TSR. I have just recently started to be active in the Sims community again, and I can honestly say I saw this sh*t coming 8 years ago. I was conviently “banned” for sharing my own creations that were on TSR with others in the community for free. Funny how my creations were still available there up until April of last year, with someone else claiming them as their own. Back then I had no idea where to go to have my stuff hosted – the community has grown so much since then, I have to admit I am a bit jealous. I have an account at TSR that I have kept for lurking purposes, I think I will cause A bit of trouble

Seems to me the best way to fight TSR is to do 3 things.
1.Make sure any friends you have that are new to the Sims never sign up there to begin with.
2.On all other forums post the truth about them to discourage any simmer from using the site or registering there.
3.Get artists to not or stop posting new stuff. new and up&comming artist especially.
I think your doing a good thing here. I’ll link this site when ever i chat about sims 2. Modthesims2 is the best site to combat the problem,(I think most simmers have an account with both them and tsr) So that would be the best place to tell of the horrors of tsr, to people who may have an account there without much backlash. Since they don’t delete accounts of banned members the best thing people can do is just plain don’t go there. I’m not:0)

And that is absolutely all about it. I’m sure your article will be more extended next time.
