I find the WHOLE thing hilarious.
Isn’t it funny that LDG has a seriously teal dear post to complain she received no FA welcome or support. Poor her, she felt so alone. *tear*
I don’t know, perhaps my reading comprehension is super fail, but it sure LOOKED like GoS had its arms open for her to comfort her and help her make her decision. Former FAs even stepped in to kindly offer support and their own experiences.
And coconut, how dare you expose all the nastiness that is behind the false sweetness of TSR? All I can tell you is THANK YOU.
When I visited the TSR forums, I noticed that once a creator becomes an FA, they disappear off the boards. I find that funny that they stop posting with the peasants once they get a titled position. Does TSR and those FAs think that regular posters don’t notice that the only place FAs can be spoken to or seen appears to be in their stupidly named public FA threads? (Also, ever notice how in those public FA threads only FAs chat with each other? LOL)
The only FA I see posting out of her public thread is MsBarrows, who seems to love her story writing and challenges too much. Other than that, I don’t think I have seen an FA actually out in the real public part of the forum being a part of the larger TSR community.

I cannot wrap my head around why LDG chose to go back to TSR. She went to GoS, where she was welcomed with open arms, and without presumptions. The amount of support offered to her was overwhelming (as evidenced in the threads linked to at the start of this post). Even in her blog, the initial reactions to the announcement of her FA-status expressed, for the most part, bewilderment and disappointment. (Unfortunately, I only thought to screencap the first two posts.) Did some people choose to bash her work simply because she’d gone pay? Sadly, yes, but those were very much in the minority. Overall, the community outside TSR was very excited about being able to support her.
Fine. Whatever.
The cultish vibe coming off these posts is creepy, to say the least. I do remember quite well the avoidence of sites other than TSR.

I really didn’t see any bashing when she first became FA; all I really saw were some people expressing disappointment that a good free creator went pay. When LDG left, the Goslings were really excited about her going free, and LDG received nothing but praise, advice and support. So, where were the supposed attacks coming from that overwhelmed poor, weak-minded LDG?
Her teal-dear posts were pitiful cries for an orgy of ego-stroking and validation. She’s beyond pathetic.
I’m glad about one thing though – she got to see what TSR really thought of her in Coconut’s blog. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop her from going back into the snake pit, but what do you expect from a neurotic nutjob?

She had been praised for AGES over on GoS, and they were very encouraging in trying to get her to come over and submit there, and then she went back to TSR. I don’t know how much of her posts anywhere are lies, but it seems like the whole of them is probably the closest estimate.

My advice to Living Dead Girl is to just open up her own site (for free on freewebs or even a livejournal) and just post her downloads there instead of hosting them on a drama-infested website like mts2 or tsr.

Sorry LDG, but you’re swimming with the sharks now. They bitched about you behind your back once, and you can bet they’ll continue to do so in private. That you went back to them despite all the support you got at GoS, former FAs and other places, and despite the fact you had already seen the snide comments the TSR staff made against you the first time you spurned their advances via Coconut’s blog speaks volumes.
You’re just one ego in a sea of plenty, and as Neptune Suzy and Raveena found out recently, easily expendable.

A few things:
1. I’m scratching my head at the FAs’ use of the word “attacked.” Most of the comments on LDG’s post were, from what I remember, of the disappointed variety, not the “OMG U SUCK” variety.
2. I don’t believe that pay has NOTHING to do with it. I wonder what she’d have done if GoS would have paid her.
3. It’s really pretty sad that the FAs are scared to participate anywhere outside the FA forums. You’d think that, if the entire community will villify you if you post anywhere other than TSR, you’re probably doing something wrong!

Seems like she’s perfect TSR fodder. What pitiful spillage of bullshit. She was offered a ‘home’ by people at GOS who have a damn site more credence than those at TSR, I just suspect her ass wasn’t kissed enough.
LDG, your CC is average, your latest creations have been mediocre to put it nicely, suppose it’s the conveyor belt style creation process over at TSR. Oh and thank you for spoiling a perfectly good Rob Zombie song for me, douchetruck.

Contrary to my usual modus operandi, I actually followed the LDG crap from beginning to end/TSR even though I’d never heard of her. I don’t really recall anything I read to be an attack. Sure, there were a couple of admonishments handed out on TSR, but nothing that couldn’t be described as tame, nor were they necessarily from “pirates” as so conveniently assumed. There were plenty of people there to welcome her with open arms on behalf of the free community yet she herself can’t see that the people who “attacked” her showed her more notice than the TSR/FA staff. The community didn’t fail LDG, she failed the community.
PMBD, nor coconut, are the source of my mistrust of TSR – I made up my own mind long before I found either. They just confirmed my nebulous suspicions.

Have you ever noticed the amount of free stuff that gets praised in PMBD? They have threads devoted to what they consider the better freesite creations. “Free stuff pawns pay” and “Prettiest freesite” threads spring to mind.
Or, were you looking for the thread entirely devoted to you, sunshine?
Many people on PMBD ARE creators, but you probably never noticed in your eagerness to only find out what was being said about you. Some of those creators are as talented as you, but they don’t need a perpetual cheering squad in order to feel good about themselves.
You are worse than emo. At least emo kids will sometimes try to understand another POV or offer sympathy. You are above that even. You were welcomed to GOS and that wasn’t good enough for you. You went back to TSR and begged again for attention. Yet, never once have I seen you offer any help, or hell, even acknowledge that anyone but you exists in this world. Everyone else is merely in the community to prop up your ego.
Your creations are excellent, but they come at way too high a price, your magnificent ego, which is so big it has to be fed all the time. There are plenty of creators that are just as good or better than you, stay with TSR Sunshine. They major in stoking egos. You’ll just have to learn occationally, to stoke back.

Wow. You know, I was one of the people who was initially really happy when she came to GoS. I cannot for the life of me figure out why she went back to those people if, as she says, she just wanted a “family” and a “home” and had a “passion for creation and passion for knowledge”. We all offered her a home and a family at GoS, and she could have gotten all the info she wanted about TS2 custom content creation from free sites. I don’t believe for a second that she was motivated by pure artistic principle, not by money.
Also, she seems to have a penchant for endless navel-gazing. I like her custom content, but she’s an annoying human being.

LDG was so distraught over this that she actually believed the pirates over at TSR? those filthy bastards… they drink rum(as seen in the paypal info screens), they loot(from every subscriber and Eaxis), they rape(buggybooz MTS2 account)and they plunder (everyone’s innocence)… and they take distressed creators and feed them a load of bullshit about GOS… IMHO GOS is the friendliest and most professional website for the sims on the intarwebberz. They’re honest, kind and like a family… and thats no suck arse bullshit. fuck TSR…
